The Marche de l’espoir, in addition to being the biggest solidarity-based event in French-speaking Switzerland, is also a whole work of raising awareness of children’s rights.
From September to October, Terre des Hommes Suisse offers classroom animations to schools in the Canton of Geneva and neighbouring France. Each year, more than 30,000 pupils are made aware of children’s rights!
These activities, led by animators trained by Terre des Hommes Suisse, make pupils aware of the realities of children’s life elsewhere, after which they are encouraged to show solidarity with their peers by taking part in the Marche de l’espoir.
To further explore the themes of the animation, educational sheets are offered to students. Supplements to the animations on children’s rights are available to discover or deepen the themes addressed in class.
